Delusions of Grandeur

Why is it that the world is good and all seems well when my house is clean? And why am I always convinced that I will be able to keep it that way for more than a day?

I hear you.

I have set my expectations low. I just hope to have my place stay clean for 3 hours. Sigh.

I always feel more at peace when the house is clean. I can physically feel the difference. And yet, I hear ya'. My house can be spotless one day and a disaster the next. I can't keep up that pace all the time and when I let my guard down the place is a mess again.

I was saying the same thing to Jerry's Dad when he came over, he is a 70ish year old Grandpa, I was telling him that I really do clean.....When he gave me some insight. He graciously shared with me that our Home gets cluttered and messy because we LIVE in it. It is a well used home full of love, (and mess) He says that homes that are clean are usually not lived in much- since those people are usually gone at work, restaurants, and day care. It did my heart good to know our house is a home, a well-used home, not just a house.

Some day when the kids are gone the house will be spotless, and all too quiet.

Nicole, I can physically feel the difference, too. And that's just it--can't keep up that pace all the time. :)

lauralynn--good wisdom. :) I'm encouraged.
