Things That Make You Go Hmm...

Some things that make me go hmm...

1) The big bright red signs on Carmichael Road advertising fresh "STRAWBERY's" (Yes, spelled like that, and with an apostrophe. Actually one of the signs did manage to get two R's, but no "ie" included on that one either.)

2) Tornado sirens that cry wolf...going off when the sun's out and there's not a dark cloud in the sky, all because there's a storm somewhere counties away. Happened this morning as I was about to get into the shower. I quickly went downstairs to call the girls to come in from playing outside. But I opened the door, yelled for them, looked around...and then told them to never mind. (Abby asked if it was the 1st Wednesday of the month...nope. Just sirens that people will--unfortunately, quickly learn to ignore.)

I love the strawberry signs. They make me laugh. Did you notice that they are almost all different? I didn't know where were so many different ways to spell "strawberries".

And the sirens--yeah ditto.

KJ, I took a picture of those signs yesterday to blog about them!!! Too funny.

Kristi, yes, I did notice that! Maybe they figured if they did them all differently, one of them was bound to be correct.

Erin, great minds think alike. You should do a post anyway--I'm sure yours would be funnier than mine! Honestly, I've been wondering why no one had blogged about it yet.

Oh Kara Jo, thank you, thank you a thousand thank yous. I have seen those berry signs for years and am so happy someone finally spoke out. I always forget...

My favorite is the one with the last letter or two going sideways up the sign.

Yeah, Hudson is notorious for sounding off the siren for a rain shower. I too have heard it go off a number of times when it is sunny. I then check the radar to see that the "storm" is at least a half hour away. Conversely, I've also not heard it go off when it probably should have.

My kids are getting confused.

OK, you've just inspired me to blog about the sirens. Off I go.
