I've mentioned before that Abby and Emily have always loved playing labor and delivery. Usually they themselves are the ones with dollies stuffed under their shirts as they coach one another through their 5 minute immaculate labors.
The other night they were playing labor and delivery again--but this time, Barbie style. I wish I had taken a picture...Barbie lying in bed with little cribs next to her, a makeshift bassinette warmer, items for examining a newborn baby, and even a waiting room with chairs & coffee table.
They say children model what they live--this goes for playing, too. I guess that would be accurate, as they just found out this past week that there will be a new addition to our family in 7 months!
That's right...we're going to increase the population of Hudson by one more.
Baby Prestrud #4 is scheduled to arrive at the end of February! We had an ultrasound last week, and little Peanut looked very much like the 7 week ultrasound picture above. Just a little bean with a blinking heartbeat. We brought the girls along for the occasion, and announced the good news to them at the Doctor's/Midwife's office.
Yay! :)

YIPPEEEEEE!!!!! Oh Kara Jo, Congratulations!!!!! I'm so happy for you all. How fun. I have goosebumps all over because I'm so excited. Welcome, baby Pestrud, welcome.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! How incredibly exciting!!! We are rejoicing with you and can't wait to welcome baby in February!
YEAH!!! Both Joey and I considered asking you guys if there would be a #4 when we were over - now we know! Now you get to give birth another time! WooHoo! (I wouldn't say that if you hadn't expressed desire to earlier ;)) Happy #4 to you guys!

Jamie, good to hear from you! I AM excited to give birth again--woohoo is right! And we did know about baby when you guys were over; we just hadn't started telling people yet. :)
Oh sweets, I am sitting here in tears. Congratulations!! Hugs to you all!
WONDERFUL!!! Congratulations! I was just wondering if you guys would have another! I'm so happy for you!
Oh, this is so exciting!
So are you going let the girls in on a true labor experience? :)
PW, though I think that's a great idea for some families, I don't think it would be so hot for ours. I think it would actually stress me to have them there, and I could see Abby freaking out, too.
I can't believe I will have to miss out on this!!!! Oh why can't we still live close? :'(
Kara Jo, I'm so excited. I keep coming back to see if you've updated again since 3:38 today. LOL.
So do I, Erin!! More, more, more!!
Danielle, I know. Like you said, if we lived closer, you could be my postpartum doula! (And if you decided to have another, I could be your birth doula.)
Erin, and everyone, thanks so much for sharing our excitement--that means a lot! I've been feeling pretty crummy (physically) so everyone's enthusiasm is helpful.
I know Danielle is bummed, but I'm happy because I get to be close by for this one...the Prestrud grand-finale!
And in the words of Mark Felton, "the world can't have enough of them Prestruds"!
Love you, sweet friend, and praying for your sweet little crunchy-peanut-butter-bundle-of-yumminess babers!
NoOtherName, I'm glad you'll be close by for this one. As you know, I'm still stewing over the fact that I missed your last two.
Hey, I didn't know Swampy said that--how sweet!
And my Dear, you and your names for my kiddos...I'm not sure why you are bent on calling them versions of crunchy...better than mushy I guess. You know Wade and I refer to yours as the Crim Critters. Love you, friend.
Pretty soon it'll be "kissin' baby lippers" time!
:)
oooh, I can't wait for the baby lippers!
Sayyy...I could be your doula.
Very happy for you all! I meant to say that before, but I was so excited I clicked before I wanted to! Whoo hoo to youuuu!
Congratulations! I am so happy for you and your family!
