(#5) No News Yet

To me it feels like the minutes and hours are just ticking by. Slower than molasses. I can't remember the last time I was this anxious to hear word of something! Like Jen mentioned, I, too, feel like I'm in the waiting room--anxiously anticipating the cries of a newborn baby. Yet this new life is all the way across the world.

We've heard nothing from Ed & Vonda since I last posted. I am praying that they made it just fine to Eva's orphanage after the transportation strike. (Albeit a day late.) And I'm hoping that the reason for no news is just that they've either been too busy, or just haven't had easy access to email in this city. Maybe both. Either way, I think we should keep praying. The enemy has fought hard against them through this entire process. But we are on the winning side! God will be faithful to see this to completion.

According to the itinerary (note: for them it's already Saturday evening right now) today they were supposed to have had Eva's dedication ceremony, and later have taken the short flight back to Delhi. Vonda notes, they'd also be on a hunt & mission to destroy any lice or scabies they may have discovered. They're so prepared!

Keep praying for God's peace to reign. And for Eva to have a sense of calmness--not rushed frenzy, as all these changes and big events are taking place.

Thank you for the post. I know it's not from Ed & Vonda but it was something, thank you. I pray they are in fact with their darling girl and loving her up right now. I have your blog up on my screen continuously and just keep refreshing it... :) We'll be praying.

Katie, I keep doing the same--refreshing my email, hoping for something from them in my inbox.

Thanks for praying along with me. We have no idea what's going on over there; they may really be in need of it.

I hate to be a worry wart. I just really thought we would have heard something by now...Even just a quick- "We are Fine" e-mail, Like you mentioned it is probably hard to always find internet access, and they might be extremely tired by now- being that it is 10pm there. (And trying to get a babydoll to sleep in a strange place) I am sure they are doing their best to just keep Eva happy and calm, and that must come first. Being a new parent is hard. We just might have to take a back seat....Which is good!
We'll keep praying till we hear something!
Is it pretty calm in India right now? Are American's safe there? Do you know Kj? Do we honestly need to be praying about that?

Laura, though I don't know for certain, I am under the impression that it is relatively safe for Americans in terms of physical danger. I do know, though, that there are small sects that are very opposed to Americans adopting Indian children, and they will, at times, go to great lengths to interfere in other ways. (As in the case with that gal, Angelique, from our church, a number of years back. She was adopting from a different area, though.)

I'm still thinking everything is probably going fine/OK, but it never hurts to keep praying, does it?
:)

Hey, everybody! The kiddos are in quiet time and so I made it to the library to check in. Such a bummer not to have word, but they are probably fine. With Sarah with them, I'm sure if they had had access, they would have posted. And access over there is extremely limited. I would have thought they'd gotten a chance at the airport, though, but who knows. By now they should be snugly sleeping in their hotel beds in Delhi, Scabies-free, and anticipating the zoo tomorrow. But I agree we should keep contending for their schedule, safety, and overall well-being.

So glad there's a community of us holding them up to the One who knows! We will hear soon, friends.

Love you and miss you guys! Can I come home now?

Just checked Ed's facebook page. No new entries there, either. No surprise, really, but thought I'd check, just in case. I keep surfing and clicking back here, but that's silly, cuz it's like 3am over there right now.

Waiting stinks!
