Hey all! Our computer crashed last week so I've been out of commission. Thank you, however, to the kind souls (P&B) who gave us one they weren't using last night. I had been praying about that. What a blessing!
Anyway, just wanted to ask if anyone had any good recommendations for Christmas music? I realized I'm getting a little tired of the 4 CD's I own--and have owned for years. My collection consists of: an Amy Grant, 2 Michael W. Smiths, and a Steven Curtis Chapman. So I'm looking to expand! Would like something from a different style--maybe Jazz or something beyond choral/traditional. What are some of your favorites?

We have some we enjoy:
Holiday Songs + Lullabies
-Shawn Colvin (truly beautiful)
Christmas with a Kick
-Restoration Hardware. Can be found on ebay.
Quithmuth (for kids, fun + funny)
-find at Amazon.
I love my Home Alone soundtrack. It's got instrumental, jazzy, and traditional songs all in one CD. Actually, you could have Mom and Dad bring you my copy from home. I'll email them now.
Oh, and I've been listening to a lot of Sarah Groves on K-Love radio station. She has some good holiday stuff.
These are my favs this year: =)
Andrew Peterson-Behold the Lamb of God
Bebo Norman-Christmas...From the Realms of Glory
Shane and Shane-Glory In the Highest
Ha! I think I have the same cd's you do, except for the Steven Curtis Chapman. I do have Harry Conick, Jr., but don't listen to it much.
Nicole...I was wondering about Harry Conick--do you not like it?
Point of Grace - "A Christmas Story" is the one I have. I saw there are several other Christmas albums too but I haven't heard them. I generally like all of Point of Grace's music.
Also, Michael Buble I'm sure has a Christmas cd. I like him a lot too.
Go Fish had a great one a while back. They may have a bunch by now but the one I'm thinking of had "Mary, Do You Know?" on it.
If you have a computer, and now you do, Pandora is the only way to go.
We love Go Fish, I think its titled "Snow"
My very FAVORITE Christmas CD is the Mercy Me Christmas Sessions.
Seriously--it's wonderful. I'll burn you a copy if you're not opposed to that sort of thing. : )
Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!
Erin, Hmm... :)
My top 2 - MercyMe Christmas Sessions and Sara Groves new Christmas CD. I also enjoy Josh Groban's Christmasy songs, though I don't know if he has a Christmas album out. I also like Celine Dion & Andrea Boccelli's song The Prayer. I zipped through Travis Cottrell's new CHristmas CD at the store a few weeks ago & enjoyed it. It has some strings & orchestration behind his songs.
Oh, I just thought of one more....love Selah's music and their short Christmas CD is great. I think it only has 5 songs on it?
Hello - OVER THE RHINE!!!
Also, I second Shawn Colvin.
