I love the way kids talk. Recently Wade hung the doors in our newly finished basement. Nathan helped with the "knordobs." When Wade needs to do caulking, Nathan assists with the "caulk-a-dile." When Abby was smaller, if she had an owie--it required a "dam-daid." And when Emily was being potty trained, her first round of success included 3 cheers for "I hooped on my hotty!"
My favorite comes from my friend Danielle's little girl, Ariana. When she was on a Veggie Tales kick, she had a thing for Larry the "Pew-Mummer." Tee hee. Makes me smile. What cute pronunciations have you heard out of the mouths of babes? Do tell!
P.S. I just went and read over parts of the journals I've kept for the girls over the years. I may have to do a part 2 to this post. All kinds of goodies I'd forgotten!

Greta likes to put on her "swimsoup" at the pool.
I soooo miss Ariana saying that. And when Ivy stops calling Ariana "titer" I will miss that too.
Visitors to my blog...most of it is protected, well any post that has pictures of my kids, so if you happen to have a xanga account and want to see more pics just make a comment on my site and let me know. :)
"pupcakes", "Old McDonald's"; these come right to mind.
J used to get things backwards, like instead of "sidewalk" he'd say "walking side". Just this morning Emma was talking about her "thinger" instead of "finger".
nail polish = paint polish
pancakes = packpakes
backpack = packpack
Katie, I think that "pack-pack" one has got to be universal! So cute. :)
Ariana said "back-cak" :)
Hope you don't mind if I drop in on your conversation, but I had a couple I had to add. These are courtesy of Shelby, my niece:
Cinderella = Sinnerlella
Sleeping Beauty = Seeping Booty
Snow White = Snow Wipe
Classic.
Kara Jo, I think that is universal for first pronounciation of backpack. I think my younger sister said it the same way as well.
Jessica--thanks for stopping by!
Oh my goodness--Sleeping Booty and Snow Wipe--you've got to be kidding me! That's awesome. :)
Bella used to call her kitchen her "chicken". That was my fave. She didn't have a pacifier, but she always commented when someone did. They were called a "fussifier".
I have another one! Currently Ariana calls an ear infection an "ear collection." Cracks me up every time!
Oh my goodness...these are all so good! Love it.
