Abby just came and asked me "Mom, every year before Mother's Day, can we have a sick day?"
Me: "A sick day?"
Abby: "Yeah...we can all pretend we're sick. It will be a family tradition!"
Me: "Sure." (Going along with it)
Abby: (rounds up Nathan and Emily) "Guys, we're going to have a sick day! Everyone's going to pretend they're sick except one person--who will take care of everyone..."
I didn't tell her that that's called being a mom. She'll be a great one someday. And it appears that it doesn't take much in the way of family traditions to make her happy, either.

How did your "sick day" go? We had a real one here tonight...still trying to decide if it is from all the candy he had on the father/son camp?? Happy Mother's Day KJ.
Aw...hope Zack is feeling better. And hope you had a good Mother's Day anyway!
We ended up not having a "sick day" after all. They got into coloring or Barbies or something and forgot all about it. I should suggest it again, though, the next time I need a nap!
cute! I wonder how she came up with that reasoning? Maybe so they can get a dose of motherhood before they honor and recognize you the next day. Trying to get the full effect maybe?
