Our little guy went under the knife today. Had his circumcision revised by a wonderful Pediatric Urologist. (The OB who performed the original one in Indiana didn't do a very good job. Don't get me started on that.)
We got there bright and early. Nathan was a bit agitated as he still nurses in the morning and of course wasn't allowed to this morning before surgery. The kind nurse offered him a wagon ride--which he declined and offered to Bear, his stuffed teddy, instead. The same went for the nifty red gripper booties.
Wade and I placed him in God's hands, and breathed a sigh of relief a half hour later when the Doc came to report all had gone well. With a humble smile, the Doctor admitted "I was pretty proud of the work I did in there. It turned out perfect." I'm sure Nathan will be thrilled with my detailed documentation of this adventure someday.
We were home by noon and even managed a trip to DQ, too. (The nurses gave us free coupons because we had to wait extra long this morning.) And Nathan's already back to his old self...making tractor noises, demanding his own way, and arguing over everything I ask him to do. :) Thanks to everyone who prayed for our little cub. I'm so relieved to have this over with.
Nathan took this picture of Mommy!

Glad to hear everything went well!!
Glad to see that Nathan will be well equipped.
Oh Kara Jo,
I feel your pain.
And your anger.
The same thing happened to us with Dakota and he had to have 2 revisions. It was awful. The first Doctor when he was born cut it crooked and said- Oops. One side was way too short and one too long. Seeing them under anesthesia is so awful, he looked so lifeless.
I am glad all went well, and I hope it will heal properly.
Is that anonymous comment a joke? Or a strangers comment-
'Cause I really don't think it is funny......
Lauralynn--thanks for the compassion! LOL
I'm so glad it went well! I didn't know things like that had to be redone. I'm glad he's back to his old self already. AND enjoying his own bedroom!
Also, the title, "Nip-n-Tuck" is probably the thing Nathan will find most horrifying when he turns 13.
LOL!
Seriously, though, I would have been a wreck--good job, Mommy!
KJ - nice outfit - it looks like YOU did the surgery!
That's the same doctor who did Eli's surgery a couple of years ago. A little eccentric, but very skilled.
Glad all went ok.
So happy it all went well Kara Jo. I'm sorry this had to happen. I can't imagine bringing your baby in there and having to walk out. Yeah God!
And poor, poor Nathan when he reads this one day....hee-hee! It's sort of like the bathtub pictures and the first big girl/boy potty chair pictures we all have. It's all good.
Glad it went well for Tater.
Oh good... thanks for sharing the update!
I bet you're relieved! I'm glad for you that it's over.
